Woodworking Drill Press

Creates Polished Pen Turning Pieces

Without all of my woodworking tools, like my woodworking drill press, I wouldn’t be able to make such great pens. Let’s all be thankful together for technological benefits!

You know by now that I treasure all of my pen turning workshop tools, but my woodworking drill press is a staple. I have a bench drill press, and I'm so thankful that it's a thoroughly modernized piece of machinery!

I wouldn’t be able to make good quality pens if I had to use a handheld drill. Making a perfectly straight hole through the middle of the pen for the ink line would impossible in my current condition. Besides, it would require putting the pen in a vise, and I'd be heartbroken if the vibration of the drill against the vise grip marked the wood.

I’ve heard of people burning out the middles of their pens, but that’s a technique I haven’t mastered. Playing with fire in the middle of a woodshop just isn’t for me. Instead, I embrace all the latest technologies to bring you the finest pens that I can.

Pens From The Inside Out

Of course, with all of this talking about drilling out the inside of the pen, you may be thinking about pen interiors in a way that you never have before. Certainly, all of us have seen broken pens, with their innards springing everywhere. My pens are designed to keep their insides where they belong, as I assemble them tightly with durability in mind.

I put the same attention into the insides of my pens as I do to the outsides, even though I hope you never see the insides. I use good quality inks and mechanics. Whether you request a gel pen or a regular rollerball pen, you'll be getting something that will last.

Extra Polish

Drill presses can also be used for miscellaneous polishing tasks. You’d better believe that I do every last miscellaneous bit of polishing with all the tools I have to ensure you get a pen at the height of its glory. You’ll appreciate the smooth polish both when you initially open the box and years from now, when the pen still feels amazing in your hand.

Enjoy My Technologies

Naturally, I know that I'm much more fascinated with my workshop than anyone else, but I hope that you enjoy these behind the scenes peeks. I want you to see the technologies here, from my woodworking drill press to my Turncrafter lathe, as a way to get a better connection with your pen.

I want you to understand the journey it made to go from the forest to my workshop to you, so you can more completely appreciate the trip and the process behind the work of art in your hand.
