Grizzly Woodworking Tools

Create The Finest Pen Turning Products

When I was setting up my workshop for woodworking again, Grizzly woodworking tools were one of the items that I wanted. Even as my wife was shaking her head, I was pouring over catalogues and online product reviews. Hand turned pens were going to be my hobby, but that didn’t mean I needed to work with anything cheap or untrustworthy as I was cutting and shaping my pens.

After all, most of the equipment that I'd had before, I'd given to my kids, or let it fall into disrepair. Working as hard as I did before I was disabled, there just wasn’t time for poking around in the woodshop. I needed to make a fresh start with good tools to be able to enjoy woodworking again comfortably.

I ordered their 14” band saw, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I absolutely love it. Sure, it may seem silly to be in love with a power tool, but let me tell you more about the role it plays in creating my beautiful pen turning products.

Well Begun Is Half Done

You all know that the key to any successful project is getting off to a solid start. Using my Grizzly band saw, I get myself off on the right foot with all of my wood pens and wooden pencil boxes. It helps me resize my pen blanks and small boards.

My pen-making materials come in standard sizes, but I don’t make standard pens. My slimline pens are the most popular, and I also offer the impressively fat-barreled cigar pen. This means that I need to trim up my pen blanks with my Grizzly woodworking tools before I take them to the lathe.

I also use the Grizzly saw to make perfectly straight cuts for my wooden pencil boxes. I can use it to divide boards or just take a little off the end. Sometimes I work with some pretty unique sizes, since I hate to let any wood go to waste.

Efficiency Is The Key

The other reason I love my Grizzly woodworking tools is that they save me a ton of time. Hand turned pen making is a time intensive process, so anything I can do to boost my efficiency helps me make more pens for you. Without my trusty Grizzly by my side, I wouldn’t be able to bring you the breadth and depth of selection that I currently have available in my store.
